Sea Star: Minimum 6 months; must be able to hold head up; course given with the company of a parent.
Duck: 24 months and up; course given with the company of a parent.
Sea Turtle: 30 months and up; course given with the company of a parent.
Sea Otter: 3 years and older, with the company of a parent, must be able to meet Sea Turtle criteria
Salamander: 4-6 years old, at ease in the pool, able to float with assistance, able to maintain their face in the water, and can swim 3 metres alone. Five courses given with the parent in the water and five courses without the parent.
Moonfish: 4-6 years old, must be at ease in the pool, able to float with assistance, can swim at least five metres alone with the help of floaters, and comfortable dipping their face in the water. Parents are no longer present in the pool.
Crocodile: 4-6 years old, must be at ease in the pool, able to float alone and can immerge his/her face in the water. Able to swim continuously for three metres without assistance.
Whale: 4 to 6 years old; must be at ease in the pool, able to float without assistance, and able to maintain their face in the water. Able to swim continuously for five metres without assistance.
Junior 1: Minimum 6 years old; must be comfortable in shallow waters, able to float on their back and stomach without help. Must be able to wear a life vest.
Junior 2: Must be able to float on their back and stomach; must be able to breathe in the water. Move legs alternately, while on their back and stomach. Able to swim on their own for a distance of minimum 5 meters.
Junior 3: Must be a ease with the deep end of the pool. Able to swim the front crawl for a distance of 5 meters. Able to swim for a distance of 10 meters without difficulty.
Junior 4: Able to swim the front crawl for a distance of 5 meters, with good arm above water. Able to swim a distance of 15 meters without difficulty.
Junior 5: Able to maintain 45 seconds at the water’s surface, able to swim the front crawl and back crawl for a distance of minimum 10 meters. Able to swim 25 meters without difficulty.
Junior 6: Able to swim front and back crawl for a distance of 15 meters. Have a proper leg & foot propulsion for a minimum distance of 5 meters. Able to swim 50 meters without difficulty.
Junior 7: Able to swim front and back crawl for a distance of 25 meters. Able to swim backstroke for a distance of 15 meters. Able to swim 75 meters without difficulty.
Junior 8: Able to swim front and back crawl for a distance of 50 meters. Able to swim breast stroke for a distance of 75 meters, able to execute the alternate kick for a distance of 15 meters. Able to swim 150 meters without difficulty.
Junior 9: Able to swim to swim front and back crawl for a distance of 75 meters. Able to swim breast stroke for a distance of 25 meters, able to swim 300 meters without difficulty.
Junior 10: Able to swim front and back crawl for a distance of 100 meters. Able to swim breast stroke for a distance of 25 meters, able to swim 400 meters without difficulty.
